The week before Halloween, we played games with spooky themes. Here we are putting spiders on their web.
The students had to roll a die and add spiders to their web. The first person to get to 30 won the game. Although we all continued because everyone wanted to get to 30.
This game helped with making groups of 10 and practice counting. I also had out a number strip so they could see the numbers they were counting.
Kindergarten Common Core Standards state that by the end of Kindergarten students should count to 100 by ones and tens, know the number names, and understand that a number stands for a quantity.
