Roll and Trace

Kindergarteners are learning so much!  We forget how easy it is for most of us to read and write our numbers 1-20.  We know our numbers.  Not only are Kindergarteners learning what numbers look like but they also have to hold that image in their head to be able to write the number, not to mention also learning how to hold a pencil.  

Here we are playing a game called, "Roll and Trace."  Students roll two dice, count the dots, find the number on their sheet and trace it.

Just through this one little game, students are reading and writing numbers, subitizing (seeing a quantity), and counting!  The best part is it is one of their favorites!
